This term our boarding students have had the opportunity to take part in a number of exciting extra-curricular activities and trips alongside their studies. Students wore masks and were socially distanced from each other where possible during these activities to minimise the risk of Covid-19.
The first activity of the term was a trip to the nearby village of Grantchester where the students enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea and an idyllic walk along the River Cam back to Cambridge.
Boarders enjoyed something different one evening by having sushi for dinner. This seemed popular as later on in the term the students had a sushi making masterclass with one of our chefs!
If sushi wasn’t to their liking they also had a bread making masterclass where they had the chance to make fougasse, pizza & chelsea buns.
Later in the term the boarders had to think outside the box when they visited a local escape room. They were so close to escaping at the hour mark that they were given more time to see if they could figure out the last clue and they escaped at 61:18!
One of the last trips of the term was exploring the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology and the Fitzwilliam Museum, making use of the amazing museums within walking distance of the boarding house.
Other activities throughout the month included a trip bowling, an arts and crafts session where they painted their own plant pots and pumpkin carving for Halloween. As part of their weekend excursions, our boarding students enjoyed a spot of horse riding at Waterbeach and a bout of badminton in Cambridge. More recently, our boarders came together for the Boarding House Christmas Dinner. We’re looking forward to the trips and activities planned for next term.
