Pupils at Dame Bradbury’s linked their learning habits of collaboration and creativity to create posters about staying safe online during their House assembly on 19 February.
With Safer Internet Day as a focus, pupils from Reception to Year 6 joined together in their House Families to consider the key messages including the SMART rules and the power of the internet to allow us to be free to talk, explore differences and get involved as a family at home. Other points that we considered were understanding the need to be kind online, keeping personal information safe and understanding the importance of reporting anything that may make us feel worried or uncomfortable.
Prior to this collaboration, KS1 enjoyed an assembly about Smartie the Penguin and made up their own tune to a catchy song, helping them remember the key online safety rules. KS2 also took part in an assembly thinking about how the internet can be used in a safe way.
The pupils displayed their posters in the dining room to remind everyone about the importance of online safety.
