Impressive results at the Senior Maths Challenge!

Published on 10/12/19

Recently, Sixth Form had 23 students take part in the Senior Maths Challenge and the impressive results could not go unmentioned!

The Senior Maths Challenge is run across the UK by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust and it comprises of challenging questions which test logic and the ability to problem solve – often it is necessary to think outside of the square!

Students who obtain a good enough score can receive Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.
Approximately, the top 10% receive Gold awards, the next 20% Silver and the next 30% Bronze.
The gold award winners are invited to take part in the next round called the Senior Kangaroo. A small minority, only 1000 students across the entire UK (approximately the top 1.6%), qualify for the British Mathematics Olympiad competition (Round 1).

I am very proud of and delighted for our students who obtained 4 Bronze, 3 Silver, 7 Gold and 2
