A day of animal related activities to support Sutherland House's chosen charity - The Blue Cross Animal Rehoming Centre - raised a staggering £700.25.
Sutherland's House Captains Freya, Matthew and Emily, ably supported by their Year 5 and 6 house colleagues, organised Pet Pictures, Snake Races, Obstacle Courses and a whole host of other superb activities which the school threw itself whole-heartedly into. Children came dressed in items of blue as well, and willingly gave their donations to this thoroughly worthy cause.
House leaders were delighted to be able to present the Blue Cross with the donation. On receiving the cheque, Sarah Bates from the charity said:
"Thank you so much for the very kind donation of £700.25 that you brought into the Cambridge centre. An extremely kind and wonderful donation. Your donation is much appreciated by us all here & helps to support the running of the centre so we can help more animals in need. Many thanks to all in Sutherland House and everyone involved in the hard work that it must have been to achieve such an amount for the pets in our care."
Huge thanks to everyone for their overwhelmingly generous donations, to the staff in Sutherland House for their work in making the day such a success and, as always, the incredible support from parents at home in their continued backing of the Dame B's house charity days.
