On 25 March Tim James came to give a talk to the Year 9 students about the sustainability of global fashion.
He is the co-founder of Schoolblazer, the company that manufactures our own school uniform, therefore in a good position to give some informed opinion. He explained the problems surrounding fast fashion and told the students that an average fast fashion garment uses 3000 litres of water, creates 11kg of C02, yet is only worn seven times. In contrast Schoolblazer manufacture goods that last a long time. The students were very enthused and asked several questions, including about how to make their own sourcing more responsible.
